brahmapura bali’ śruti-gaṇa yāke gāya
māyā-mukta chakṣe āhā māyāpura bhāya
sarvopari śrī-gokula nāma mahāvana
yathā nitya-līlā kare śrī-śachī-nandana
(Śrī Navadvīpa-bhāva-taraṅga: 9)
The scriptures sing of it, calling it Brahmapur. Ah! Māyāpur shines before eyes free from illusion. It is nondifferent from the supreme abode, Śrī Gokula Mahāvan, where the son of Śachī performs His eternal Pastimes.

vraje sei dhāma gopa-gopī-gaṇālaya
navadvīpe śrī-gokula dvija-vāsa raya
jagannātha-miśra-gṛha parama pāvana
māyāpura-madhye śobhe nitya niketana
(Śrī Navadvīpa-bhāva-taraṅga: 10)
As Vraja, the Dhām is the home of cowherd men and women. As Nabadwīp, Śrī Gokula is the home of brāhmaṇs. The house of Jagannāth Miśra, the supremely pure, eternal home of the Lord, shines in Māyāpur.

māyā-jālāvṛta chakṣu dekhe kṣudrāgāra
jaḍamaya bhūmi jala dravya yata āra
māyā kṛpā kari’ jāla uṭhāya yakhana
ā̐khi dekhe suviśāla chinmaya bhavana
(Śrī Navadvīpa-bhāva-taraṅga: 11)
Eyes covered by the veil of Māyā see a small house, some land, some water, and other materials. When Māyā mercifully lifts her veil, the eyes see a magnificent spiritual abode.

mane kari node juri’ hṛdaya bichāi
tāhāra upare sonār gaurāṅga nāchāi

“That type of Mahāprabhu I want to worship in my heart, and I want to spread my heart like a carpet along the whole of the bank of the Ganges so Mahāprabhu may dance there in my heart.” (Affectionate Guidance)

yathā taror mūla-niṣechanena
tṛpyanti tat-skandha-bhujopaśākhāḥ
prāṇopahārāch cha yathendriyāṇāṁ
tathaiva sarvārhaṇam achyutejyā
(Śrīmad Bhāgavatam: 4.31.14)
“If you pour water on the root of a tree, the whole tree is nourished. If you offer your devotion and service to Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, all demigods, all goddesses, and the whole world are satisfied. You can fulfil all your duties and desires by worshipping Lord Kṛṣṇa. This is what is truly necessary for everyone.” (RT translation)

yat-pāda-pallava-yugaṁ vinidhāya kumbha-
dvandve praṇāma-samaye sa gaṇādhirājaḥ
vighnān vihantum alam asya jagat-trayasya
govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi
(Śrī Brahma-saṁhitā: 5.50)
I adore the primeval Lord Govinda, whose lotus feet are always held by Gaṇeśa upon the pair of tumuli protruding from his elephant head in order to obtain power for his function of destroying all the obstacles on the path of progress of the three worlds.

ālola-chandraka-lasad-vanamālya-vaṁśī-
ratnāṅgadaṁ praṇaya-keli-kalā-vilāsam
śyāmaṁ tri-bhaṅga-lalitaṁ niyata-prakāśaṁ
govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi
(Śrī Brahma-saṁhitā: 5.31)
I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, round whose neck is swinging a garland of flowers beautified with the moon-locket, whose two hands are adorned with the flute and jeweled ornaments, who always revels in pastimes of love, whose graceful threefold-bending form of Śyāmasundara is eternally manifest.

Ālola-chandraka-lasad-vanamālya-vaṁśī: Kṛṣṇa’s dearest lover has made a vanamālya (forest garland) with peacock feathers and forest flowers and given it to Him. There is nothing else on that garland except forest flowers and peacock feathers gathered from the forest. There are no jewels, diamonds, or anything else; only forest flowers and peacock feathers. Ratnāṅgadaṁ praṇaya-keli-kalā-vilāsam. Since Kṛṣṇa is playing with the gopīs, it is necessary to dress like them. Mother Yaśodā has given Kṛṣṇa some nice dress, golden ornaments, bracelets, ankle bracelets, etc., and He is wearing them and playing with the gopīs.

Śyāmaṁ tri-bhaṅga-lalitaṁ niyata-prakāśaṁ: Kṛṣṇa’s colour is so beautiful that it gives peace to the eyes. It isn’t effulgent like Nārāyaṇ’s. It is soothing the eyes and attracting them like a magnet. (Religion of the Heart)

chintāmaṇi-prakara-sadmasu kalpa-vṛkṣa-
lakṣāvṛteṣu surabhīr abhipālayantam
lakṣmī-sahasra-śata-sambhrama-sevyamānaṁ
govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi
(Śrī Brahma-samhita: 5.29)
Surrounded by millions of wish-fulfilling trees,
in abodes made of multitudes of wish-yielding gems,
He who tends the ever-yielding cows
and who is perpetually served with great affection
by hundreds of thousands of Lakṣmīs—
the Primeval Lord, Govinda, do I worship.
