And diseases, etc etc, come to us, and we are related also with that for our body. But transcendental connection also with us through our atma, then the chit and jada, what is the English? Mundane (jada) and transcendental (chit) we are related with both, then we are suffering, always something. Who have no suffering, he also trying to get suffering too. This situation for us. Very early in the morning one sloka I remember, first line I wrote here . . .
martyo yadā tyakta-samasta-karmā
niveditātmā vichikīrṣito me
mayātma-bhūyāya cha kalpate vai
(SB: 11.29.34 and CC Antya 4.194)
. . . . . martyo yadā tyakta-samasta-karmā, living with all the activity, surrender to Lord, and He is Krishna, niveditātmā, Krishna means active emporium of rasa, then when surrendered to Krishna, automatically all kind of relationship, they are activated. But activeness we have, that is related with Maya, with illusory environment, and necessary to leave it. That is our practicing life. We are trying to leave the association or environment created by Maya, what the illusory, illusion means what is not truth, that is showing that truth, but (it’s) not truth, that is called illusion, martyo yadā tyakta-samasta-karmā, which way leaving all mundane activity, and surrender to Lord Krishna, it is not within this sloka, but supressedly and unconsciously given that procedure, we need to be surrendered properly, but we are not successful, but which way we will be successful? vichikīrṣito me, this is the vital point, leaving everything and merging into the brahma, that is mayavada, but leaving everything transformed within the service mood, to Lord Krishna, and do everything for Lord Krishna, like Ambarisa Maharaj, he is also related with relative world, with this material consciousness, but he is not living within that platform and plane, he is living within service level . .
sa vai manaḥ kṛṣṇa-padāravindayor
karau harer mandira-mārjanādiṣu
ghrāṇaṁ ca tat-pāda-saroja-saurabhe
śrīmat-tulasyā rasanāṁ tad-arpite
pādau hareḥ kṣetra-padānusarpaṇe
kāmaṁ ca dāsye na tu kāma-kāmyayā
. . . cooking everything opulent, and existing in my eating table, but I must consider what is my situation of body and mind and health condition, then I shall choose from there what is good and what is bad to eat, it is like that. In this material world, so many things in front of us, but we will not be attracted with anything (I think Gurudev here means, we will not be attracted by ‘anything and everything’) . . . what is good for my health we shall take that, then I shall be very well. It is like that. What is coming in my front, that all I shall eat, then must be sick. Especially stomach sickness, everyone knows how to disturb. But everything exisiting in front of me, but I shall choose, what is (best) for my practicing life, and that I shall take. This is vichikīrṣito me, only little word, but very wide meanings there, tadāmṛtatvaṁ pratipadyamāno, mamātma-bhūyāya cha kalpate vai
(Gurudev here says ‘mamatma-bhuyaya” and this is how this appears in our Sri Sri Prapanna Jivanamrta. Although in Swami Maharaja’s Srimad Bhagavatam, and in several of our other books (such as Heart and Halo) its given as ‘mayātma-bhūyāya)
ātma-bhūyāya, (meaning) with Krishna, he will be similar standard and plane with Krishna. It is very miracle for the devotee, but they are doing, they are existing that way. Srila Guru Maharaj is very very merciful to us, but unfortunate soul cannot understand Guru Maharaja’s own situation, position, he giving gift, unfortunate soul cannot understand, but who is fortunate he must can understand it.
And in this material world, our material existence always obstacle, but with this prescription we will be, we will make clean ourself. Service to the Lord, where is service, there we will be, and where is no service of Lord, that we shall not do that. Our group of devotee, they are always engaged for the service, even their everyday asking, almost everyday they are asking “What shall I do now? What shall I do this, what shall I do?” And I surprised, they do not know, without service, their mood is like this, and I am getting inspiration, and, from our devotee all over the world. Someone living so far, and no association, but he is very unhappy, and hankering he have for his practicing life, and asking, “What shall I do now? This is my situation” This way, they have no so big anything plan programme, generally they have not, big plan programme, but simple, and that will be steady life in spiritual world. That kind of their hankering.
Srila Guru Maharaj said, in his one sloka, when he finish the Prapanna Jivanamrtam, Prapanna Jivanamrtam he composed that time when his brain was so high level moving, and he have got much help from the environment. Prabhupada Saraswati Thakur was present and Saraswati Thakur gone from this material world. After that, missionary disturbance come, everything happen, and simply he is living, with his own mood of service, and that time he composed Prapanna Jivanamrtam.
Before, I cannot understand everything, but I am following his mood of practicing life, what he has given to us, I am following that, not full, not hundred percent, but good fortune I have, that devotee, some of the devotee have seen that situation, and I am proud to hear their comment, that I am fanatic to Guru Maharaj, they told, I am fanatic to Guru Maharaj, and very fanatic, now I feel, you see I am not going anywhere to see, only once after taking sanyasa Guru Maharaj told you will go to Prabhupada Saraswati Thakur’s samadhi and pay their dandavat and come back. Not told to go to Mahaprabhu, go to there, go to here, go to there, go to Nrsimha tala, no. Only he told, “Go to Prabhupada’s samadhi mandir and pay dandavat there”
And I am busy, I told to to Guru Maharaj “Maharaj I must go, but when I shall get time?” Proper time I shall get, I shall go, I promise it, and I went there, when went? 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, I not get time to go, 1992 I went there, before going to the world tour, out of India, then I think ‘If I plane crash, or anything happen, then I cannot keep my promise to Guru Maharaj, then I must go. Then one day I went.
There is two cause, one cause is that, when I shall go to Mayapura and pay dandavat to Prabhupada Saraswat Thakur’s samadhi mandir, that will not be finish for me, next door living, Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Ghandarvika Giridhari living, the deity of Chaitanya Math, there I must go, I shall see there Gaur Kishore Das Babaji Maharaja’s samadhi, must go, like that. And in the way, up to [indistinct] ghat, Nabadwip ghat, Ganges, on both sides, that time also, many my friend devotees ashram, if not there will go, they will not be happy, at least five minutes for paying dandavat for their temple. This way whole day I must spend there. It was the main cause, and there is ISKCON, also I want to see the ISKCON, etc, etc.
Anyhow, the preaching of Srila Guru Maharaj, he summarily told us, in Prapanna Jivanamrtam, because Srila Guru Maharaj feel it, what is first necessary of the devotee’s life, devotee’s practicing life, and that is saranagati. Saranagati means surrender to Lord Krishna, Lord Nityananda Prabhu, Mahaprabhu, Krishna, that is saranagati, and that is necessary for us. And six kind of saranagati’s explanation you have got in Prapanna Jivanamrtam . .
goptṛtve varaṇaṁ tathā
. . .This is saranagati, and Prapanna Jivanamrtam (is) a book of saranagati, teachings, book, of saranagati, that is Prapanna Jivanamrtam. And there finally Guru Maharaj told: “What I collected in saranagati, collected for saranagati of the devotee, I collected so many slokas, so many devotional mood of surrender within this book, and it is very essential for everyone. It is is drop of nectar, every sloka as a drop of nectar, and that I collected, that nectar, the bees are collecting the honey, and keeping in his store, and I collected the slokas of nectar and put in this book . .
nikṣiptā madhu-bindavaś cha parito bhraṣṭā mukhāt guñjitaiḥ
yatnaiḥ kiñchid ihāhṛtaṁ nija-para-śreyo ’rthinā tan mayā
bhūyo-bhūya ito rajāṁsi pada-saṁlagnāni teṣāṁ bhaje
(Śrī Śrī Prapanna-jīvanāmṛtam: 10.14)
. . lotus feet of the devotee, I am bow down and given their nectarian ocean of mood of devotion, They are playing and they are tasting the nectar of Krishna padpadma, lotus feet of Krishna, and inside the lotus (feet) is honey existing, they are tasting that honey and they are singing the glories of Lord and tasting the honey, and naturally something dropping [indistinct] and I am collecting that, when they are singing the glories and eating, then something sometimes come fall down, and I am collecting that drop of nectar.
nikṣiptā madhu-bindavaś cha parito bhraṣṭā mukhāt guñjitaiḥ
yatnaiḥ kiñchid ihāhṛtaṁ…
I tried as possible by me, with full energy, yatnaih, little bit, but that is ocean of nectar, and eka-bindu jagat ḍubāya, this, what name? Kaviraj Goswami told in Chaitanya Charitamrita, eka-bindu jagat . . .

. . . . anyhow, yatnaih kincid ihahrtam nija-parasreyo ‘rthina tan maya , my good must be, but others also they will get that good property, what is distributed, the devotee. I collected that slokas, and what kind of sloka? Saranagati, and activity, vichikīrṣito me, when they are surrendered to Krishna, most do something, because they are the atma, spiritual existence they have as moving spirit, willing, feeling, thinking, that spirit, atma, atma must do, must think, must feel, then without moving cannot do anything, always they are moving. But they will do service to Lord Krishna, that is the main thing.
This morning, when I wake up, awake at five clock today, health is not good, very weak feel . . martyo yadā tyakta-samasta-karmā, niveditātmā vichikīrṣito me, very small sloka, but all the property within that sloka, tadāmṛtatvaṁ pratipadyamāno, mamātma-bhūyāya cha kalpate vai . . this ‘kalapate vai’ this word many where used, and many interpretation happen, this word.
Every day is good day, if we will get some service to Lord, service to Guru, service to Gauranga, service to Gandharvika, service to Giridhari, Govinda Sundar, Giridhari Govardhan and Tulasi Maharani, Ganga Mayi and Sada Shiva Gangadhar, all within our jurisdiction, existing, it was desire of Srila Guru Maharaj, Chaitanya Saraswat Math will be so glorious, and it’s happened, śrīmach-chaitanya-sārasvata-maṭha-vara udgīta-kīrttir jaya-śrīṁ, full of service here, all over the world going on, not only (pointed?) in this place, but everywhere, yesterday Hasya Priya Prabhu gone to Kolkata for making a new plan in our Soquel Ashram, next to ocean and next to mountain, within mountain next to ocean, and big ashram. On the edge of Prasanta Mahasagar (Pacific Ocean)
nīlāmbhodhi-taṭe sadā svavirahākṣepānvitaṁ bāndhavaṁ
śrīmad-bhāgavatī-kathā-madirayā sañjīvayan bhāti yaḥ
śrīmad-bhāgavataṁ sadā svanayanāśru-pāyanaiḥ pūjayan
gosvāmi-pravaro gadādhara-vibhūr bhūyāt mad-ekā-gatiḥ

Infinite, everything is infinite, it’s not end, feeling of the heart of the devotee (is) so wide, like Prasanta Mahasagar (Pacific Ocean) and one plan giving millions of dollar, plan, and in cash, nothing in hand, that is giving me so much happiness. He have no cash in hand, even the architect, what will do, drawing, that expenses he have not, Hasya Priya, but heart is so big, and temple make is very big, and I surprised. He went to China for meeting with his friend Yudhamanyu and come here to see me, and gone, going back. But he went to China to meet with Yudhamanyu, that is one part of his life, and second part of his life is service, and from China he taken one tractor, big tractor, vijaya tractor, I given name, and making so many things, one tractor there. I have seen picture and work of picture in my computer.
But I am thinking, yesterday went to Kolkata, and there I send for one architect, but architect working in government job and they are not permitted to do other job, that is law, and they are very very lawful man. Good, maintaining the law, not breaking the law of government. Anyhow, I told my friend, anyone other is there or not, if not, he can come back, Acharya Maharaj finally, my right hand, he will do anyway.
In the first book of Guru Maharaja’s, second book maybe? The Search For Sri Krishna Reality the Beautiful. First book Guardian of Devotion, small book, but introductory book, introduction with Prabhupada and Guru Maharaja’s relationship and teachings, everything is there, small book, but there (Katha . . . ?) conversation, very nice, very nice book, I think that is the first book, not only that, first book also. Anyhow, there Search for Sri Krishna, that book, behind (on the back cover of the book) written one word:
“Oh sons of nectar, sons of the nectarian ocean”
Same meanings, but impression giving to the heart ‘nectarian ocean’ this word, English word, I have got that, that I am telling to you all. Sons of nectar, it’s OK, we have sons of nectar, no problem, but we are living within nectarian ocean, tadāmṛtatvaṁ pratipadyamāno, within this sloka, what sloka I told this morning, tadāmṛtatvaṁ pratipadyamāno, mamātma-bhūyāya cha kalpate vai, very high standard, when Krishna disappear in rasa lila, there gopis was very puzzled, disturbed, like mad, and how much their madness gone? That is indicated in this sloka. Gopis are thinking they are Krishna himself. They are not Krishna, they are gopis, but their mental position, they become pagala, mad, and thinking ‘I am Krishna’ mamātma-bhūyāya, from this little sloka, how much wide meanings coming out, ātma-bhūyāya cha kalpate vai,
Hare Krishna! Maharaj, you come with this file, but he wants to take one name from that, that’s also very hazy matter, cannot do easily. Second, proof reading, I tried, not possible. Bhumika I cannot write, but if will come some, but I have faith to Maharaj, he will write some bhumika, I shall be very happy, that is good . . . (Bengali speaking) . . . Golden Volcano, two parts, first part: Life and Precepts, and second part: Teachings. Pastimes and Mahaprabhu siksha (Bengali speaking) . . suvarna agnior giri (begali for ‘Golden Volcano) that is not full expression, and suvarna varno hemango, this golden colour and hemango, hema also suvarna, gold, and colour of suvarna, that is gold, there is gold everywhere and all over the world, the controlling the standard of gold.
In the scripture there also told this sloka, suvarna varno, Mahabharata, this sloka in Mahabharata, suvarna varno hemango varangas, all related with gold, and Guru Maharaj given name ‘Golden Volcano’ very good expression, but what is Bengali? That is the question. Golden Volcano of Divine Lava, lava, this word (is) Guru Maharaja’s word, divine lava, coming out from golden volcano, dvadasabda-bahni-garbha-vipralambha-silanam, this is meanings, in Sanskrit, he given, in Prema Dhama Deva Stotram, dvadasabda-bahni-garbha-vipralambha-silanam, but what Bengali I shall give? I do not know name, very heavy, I am trying (Bengali speaking), all is exception (?) of Guru Maharaja’s creation, not creation, manifestation by Guru Maharaj, it is not creation, not ideal, in spiritual world, creation and manifestation, there is different meanings, guru-gaura-kisoraka-dasya-param, cira-gaura-janasraya-visva-gurum, guru-gaura-kisoraka-dasya-param, paramadrta-bhaktivinoda-padam, pranamami sada prabhupada-padam
